8 01 2010

Loving a Jamendo track and can’t wait for the Spotify integration?

It’s not impossible, since Spotify implemented the  “Buy Now” feature.
Take a look of this video. (This solution cost money because you need to buy tracks to substitute before

you can import your own)

New releases on spotify

20 08 2009

Two weeks left after the initital attention of spotify, and now, two additional releases, utopology and incendio is now ready for on demond on spotify.

If you haven’t signed up for spotify or got an invite – get onto the spotify web site as soon you can, sign up for the premium account for so less as $10 per montnth. And it will give you any time free of charge access of millions of other songs, except for them I done.

Check out that server. How do download? Not possible, but I’m sure this would change in a near future – as I wroted in the previous post, there isn’t any options than doing so, the future of sharing can’t be avoided.

Please pay attention to illegal service as the global federation recently tuned up their hunt of pirates and a chase could cost a huge for you.

The open source software problems

20 08 2009

Last night I have a dream about a furher release of OpenOffice.org. This release contained a huge update of the software, which allows more modern style of drawing with drop shadows, blur, full clear-type rendering and fading menus.
OpenOffice.org really need those features, because I’t feels like an software from the 19th century. The development of the program seems to be painful slow at this point, and it’s today painfully slow.

I think the big issue with open source software is the lackless of safe handling of memory. Because the development of the application is done by diffrent developers around the world, they are lack on the control of a shared policy for memory handling. This means primarly that diffrent developers handles the memory usage in diffrent way, opening for conflicts between program features. Commercial software are developed by a closed team, which are aware of a colloborate standard for memory handling.

Memory handling is a developers most boring and important work, to make a program stable. And because Open Source software developers primarly are focused on a implementing features, they forget the required handling of the memory.
The range of those problem can be controlled by a good organisation, who takes good care of the code contributions and making sure to check them really so there isn’t any conflicts between the bransches.

The future of music

15 08 2009

Within ten years, I believe that Spotify or that times best music service would offer nearly unlimited downloads of unprotected songs for a resonable fee. There aren’t any other options to choose among, the services and the industry have to believe it.

The firefox age is passed by

14 08 2009

On my whiling to Skövde today, I made two new ambient tracks and tested the google chrome and I must say that this was definitly the end of my firefox era. Firefox is dead for me, it has messed up my computer so many times I can’t count I can’t understand how that junky web browser is being accepted by peoples around of world. Off course, my computer is bit slow, so it could be a reason, but I can say that firefox is a browser that easy gets stuck in some way, halting my web experience. Chrome is the greatest browser I ever discovred on this earth and it will be my soulmate forever so long it holds its style.

Another cool thing is that the upcoming extension system that will is fortgoing is lightyears before the xul platform in realibilty, since it only requires at least ONE file and four lines of basic code to be ready for going. No mess with manifests, xpi:s and other mardreams that are a confrontation to work with.

Mozilla has much to work with before they can get my intrest back. Keep up working.

Now I will work on  a specification of the Aquasphere Protocol,   which will allow connecting web systems to other systems on a base on the user side, which will reduce the duplication of information.  The specification will define how a extension should make it possible to use your favorite registry in a new way, extend it with own information, from other sources or local informations as it was native on the page.

Children can’t get their favorite music legally….

13 08 2009

In the debate about the problem with file sharing, we have probably forgotten a very important aspect of the problem, the fact that teenagers can’t get their favorite songs legally, unless a parent is helping them.

This is what I believe was spotify strength and must, because Spotify is only the music service that kids could use themselves to find new music from the internet, or download illegal, where the parents stands legally responsible for the children crime on the web.

When Spotify removed Bob Dylan and some other tracks, I believe Spotify are crystalized to a service for independent music and labels, and teen pop, and this is because the payment weakness that those listner has.

The traditional music industry is probably commiting an real suicide, if they can’t change their minds. They probably tried to blew their listners to payment by attending spotify and then unattend it, which hazard the conflict additional.

I really think there is a very big capitalism inside the commercial music industry. The big monsters has nevered did something good, neither for the artists or their listners. Instead, their goal was primarly to manuafactor high environmental polluting compact discs, and their unwilling of being open for the development is a clear sign of immerse inside the labels.

Labels primary role is to invest in new talentens and making profit from them. They hijack the artists rights to their works and profit, leaving only about some few percent left to the artist iself.

It’s not a hard equation that we seen a real digital revolution, because the business role that the traditional industry are attempting to preserve are nearly outdate since many years ago.

The fact that the web are the absolutely best platform for musics and fans can not be disclosures. Sites such Jamendo, Record Union and other services enable new talent to make a avatar and a increditable fan base on a very short time, which previous only was preserved to the commercial radios.

Back to fact, many listners can’t, even if they wanted get their favorite music legally. Legal issues make it unpossible for minors to get their songs to their computer, even if they could pay, due to the need of a credit card.

We must let children get a moderate possibility to make payments iself at the web, as children can buy their ice-cream themselves at the beach. A system where special “child wallets” on web where only “child payment” approved payments could only be used with.

For example, what problem would it be if a child paid nine punds for their favorite album on the internet on a store, as they can buy a cd at the local store? To prevent security problems, and to save children economy, child payment should be maintained with an solution like paypal, where parents can set up a “web account” and define limitations on how children can use their money on the web. Additionally, to protect children, children can only pay on a web site which are trusted by the children payment system, and are strictly monitored by the child payment system.
